About
While growing up in the foothills of Northern California, I played house amid the oak trees and blackberry bushes, daydreaming of tending my own home and family one day. I even wrote in my teenage diary that I wanted to have six children!
That dream began to come true in 2010, when I married my beloved Jonathan and joyfully set up house in our tiny apartment in Northwest Washington State. I immediately began experimenting with recipes from a wedding-gift cookbook, studying interior design books from the library, and filling our small space with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
Since then, as God indeed blessed us with six children and our family adventured from the Cascades to the Ozarks, “Home” has run the gamut of a quirky daylight basement, a sweet little 1950’s ranch, a cool 1980’s Airstream, a new-construction subdivision house, a quaint 1930’s bungalow, and a light-filled 1970’s lake house.
I delight in creating a beautiful, well-ordered home where my family spends our days working, learning, and playing. Between preparing meals, picking up socks from the floor, and singing lullabies, I enjoy reading, writing, and having long conversations over steaming mugs.
